Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws

Below are the constitutional changes as approved by the All Stars Executive Committee, Dean of Extension, and the All Star membership at the All Star Luncheon on July 21, 2004.

The following items were amended:

OFFICER TITLE CHANGES:
1. Strike the word “Big” from the title “Big Chief” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

2. Strike the word “Lesser” from the title “Lesser Chief” and insert “Deputy” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

3. Strike the word “Eagle” from the title “Eagle Scout” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

4. Strike the words “Medicine Person” and insert “Advisor” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

CHANGE TIME OF OFFICER ELECTIONS:
5. Article IV: Strike the words “High Council” and insert “State All Star Conference.”

6. Article V: Strike the words “at which time the officers will be elected.”

7. By-Law I. Section III: Strike the words “with the exception of state officers, whose membership will cease at the end of their term.”

8. By-Law III. Section I. A.: Strike the words “annual High Council” and insert “State All Star Conference.”

9. By-Law III. Section I. B.: Strike the words “High Council” and insert “State All Star Conference.”

10. By-Law III. Section 1. A.: Insert the following after the first sentence:

An eligible officer must be in the tenth or eleventh grade as of January 1 of the current year.

CHANGE IN ELIGIBILITY FOR MEMBERSHIP:
11. Strike By-Law I. Section I. B. 2. in its entirety and insert the following:

Must have completed the eighth grade*

REQUIRED BY CHANGES WITHIN UNIVERSITY SYSTEM:
12. Strike the name “Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service” and insert “UT Extension” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

13. Strike the word “District” and insert “Region” or “Regional” wherever it occurs in the Constitution and By-Laws.

14. By-Law V. Section I.A.1.: Strike the words “eight (8)” and insert “seven (7).”

15. By-Law V. Section I.B.1.: Strike the words “ten (10)” and insert “eight (8).”
