Tennessee 4-H offers a variety of camps and programs geared to specific age groups and to youth with special interests.

Junior 4-H Camp

 

Junior 4-H Camp is for youth who have completed grades 4-6. This five-day resident camp is available at all 4-H Centers and offers excellent youth programming. Activities include swimming, shooting sports, mini golf, group sports, fishing, tubing, nature hikes, leathercraft and woodworking, T-shirt airbrushing, skits, music, and more.

4-H Ed-venture Camp

4-H Ed-venture Camp is for older youth who have completed grades 6-8. This resident camp is available at selected 4-H Centers and offers adventure-type and active-engaged programming, with an emphasis on individual development and group dynamics through special interest groups and team challenges. Activities may include mock archaelogical digs, fishing, tubing, nature hikes, canoeing, swimming, shooting sports, T-shirt airbrushing, survivor challenges, and more.

4-H Target Smart Camp

4-H Target SMART Camp is a program of Tennessee 4-H Shooting Sports. It is for youth who are enrolled in grades 5-12 on January 1 of the current calendar year. This resident camp is located at the W.P. Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia, Tennessee. At camp youth learn appropriate skills to succeed in a variety of shooting sports and related areas such as archery, riflery, shotgun use, muzzleloading, and outdoor skills. Programs emphasize safety, correct form, and responsible use. Campers should receive prior training before attending this camp.

4-H Wildlife Conference and Shooting Sports Camp

4-H Wildlife Conference is for young people enrolled in grades 6-8. The camp is a cooperative effort sponsored by the University of Tennessee Extension and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. The camp focuses on wildlife awareness and management, and hunter education. Activities include hiking, fishing, and shooting sports. See the brochure.

Electric Camp

Electric Camp is a fun-filled, rewarding adventure in electricity held at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The camp features learning centers staffed by electric utility professionals. Each learning center will use hands-on activities that allow the 4-H members to learn by doing.

Electric camp is for boys and girls enrolled in 4-H who are in grades 6-7 as of January 1 of the current calendar year. Members do not have to be enrolled in the electric project to attend the camp, but they should have an interest in this area. 4-H'ers may attend Electric Camp only once.

Environmental Summer Camp

Environmental Summer Camp is for students in grades 4-6 who have an interest in learming about environmental issues.

Canoe in the calm waters of the Nolichuckey river as you learn about your surroundings. Learn about forest ecology while taking a trip on the Appalachian Trail. Take a night hike in the forest and in a wetland. Study the wonders of the night sky in an astronomy class. These are only a few of the adventures that await you.
