$500 MINI-GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR PYLI TRAININGS
Certified PYLI trainers are invited to submit a proposal to Tennessee 4-H Youth Development for a $500 mini-grant for implementation of a Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute (PYLI), to be completed by June 30, 2006.
A total of 15 $500 mini-grants will be awarded through this application process. To receive mini-grants, groups must conduct community service projects in rural areas and have a $500.00 cash match. All federal grant guidelines will be closely adhered to throughout the mini-grant process.
A selection committee will award grants based on the RFP. Grant recipients will be notified within three weeks after receipt of proposal in the state 4-H office. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis and continuing until all funds are awarded.

HENRY AND LINCOLN COUNTIES TOP MARCH HONOR CLUB NUMBERS
Henry and Lincoln counties had 25 and 33 Honor Club initiates respectively in March. In the last 10 years, only four other counties have had 25 or more initiates in a single month. Congratulations to Henry County 4-H agent Michele Atkins and Lincoln County 4-H agents Darrell Hale and Dan Owen on this outstanding accomplishment.

OMK CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS
Camp scholarships are back! Twenty-seven camp scholarships will be awarded to 4th-6th grade students with at least one parent currently deployed with any branch of the military, including active National Guard and Reservists. Each region will receive nine scholarships to cover the full camp fee and additional transportation fees charged by the counties.
To apply, youth should complete the OMK 4-H Camp Scholarship Application and submit their application to the county 4-H agent. We will promote this opportunity through 4-H and our OMK partner organizations; however, applications must come through the county Extension office. County offices should forward applications to the state 4-H office, where they will be distributed to the State OMK Team for review. Applications are due in the state 4-H office by May 1, 2006.
Counties will be notified of scholarship recipients by May 15. Scholarship payment information will also be distributed at this time.
Applications can be downloaded from the OMK Web site at 4h.tennessee.edu/OMK/camp.htm.
