Below are some Q and A's about the event!
| * Now, when is it again? |
4-H Night is December 1, 2006, at Thompson-Boling Arena on the campus of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville at 7:00 p.m.
|
| * Who can attend? Do they have to be currently enrolled 4-H members? |
NO! All 4-H members, friends and family members can purchase a ticket for $5.00! Even if you can’t attend and want to give your tickets to someone else, that is more than acceptable! You can also send in a monetary donation and request that your tickets are given to other kids in the community as a gift from
4-H!
|
| * $5.00!?! Isn’t that more than they cost last year? |
Yes…because of the VOLS winning record and the addition of a free soft drink, the price is more than last year’s event. HOWEVER! It is still at a deeply discounted price!!
|
| * Is there limited space? |
YES! We only have a certain amount of tickets available at this rate and within this section of seating, so please ACT NOW!
|
| * So, if I am a 4-H agent and just want to bring my family, I can? |
YES! (but it would be great if you could bring along some 4-H members too!)
|
* And, if I am a 4-H’er and I want to bring 10 friends who aren’t
4-H’ers, I can? |
YES! That would be a great enrollment and promotional tool for you to use to get others involved (and hey, stop by and pick up your 4-H agent too!)
|
| * And if I have friends or family that has no relationship to 4-H but want to support us and attend? |
BRING THEM ON! We would love to have any and all persons that support us!
|
| * How do I get a ticket? |
You simply log on to the Web site below and place your order! The tickets can be mailed directly to you OR you can pick them up at the box office! We will mail you the coupon for a free coke! REMEMBER! The log in and password are case sensitive:
www.groupticketwindow.com/groupticket/college/TennesseeUniversity/group
Login: 4H
Password: HOOPS
|
| * Is there anything special happening that night for the 4-H program? |
YOU BET! A member of the Tennessee 4-H Performing Arts Troupe will be singing the National Anthem and there will be special recognition for the Tennessee 4-H program, as well as VIP treatment for those members who are participating! MORE INFO TO COME!
|
| * When is the last day I can request tickets? |
Tickets will be sold until the Web site indicates they are sold out. We cannot guarantee your soft drink coupon will arrive to you in time for the game if you order close to December 1! So, act now!
|
| * I am really excited but I have more questions! What do I do? |
| You can contact me directly at agallimore@tennessee.edu or at 865-974-2128. Hope to see you there! |

If you are an Extension agent, the 4-H Essential Element Program Planning Tool will help you verify your program’s strong points and spot areas where you can step up your emphasis - for each of the essential elements of belonging, mastery, independence and generosity. It also offers some of the best resources from current youth development research and CYFERnet that relate to the 4-H Essential Elements.
Volunteers will find the 4-H Essential Element Program Planning Tool easy to use and jam-packed with good ideas to make them more effective as leaders.

VOLUNTEERS AND TAX DEDUCTIONS
Tax time is rapidly approaching. Many people do not know out-of-pocket expenses incurred when they volunteer could be tax-deductible. IRS Form 526 outlines which organizations qualify; what you can deduct and what you cannot deduct; when to deduct; limits to deductions; and how to keep records. Out-of-pocket expenses when you serve a qualified organization as a volunteer is considered a charitable contribution. To deduct a charitable contribution, you must file Form 1040 and itemize deductions on Schedule A. To learn more, check out www.irs.gov/publications/p526/index.html and be sure to share this information with volunteers.
