GET YOUR BAGS PACKED FOR THE TAE4-HW ANNUAL MEETING!
We’re looking forward to seeing you at the TAE4-HW Annual Meeting and Professional Development Conference next week. There are 86 registered for the conference at the Music Road Hotel and Convention Center in Pigeon Forge. Here are some details that might help you prepare for your participation.
Directions: Turn right at traffic light #1 in Pigeon Forge onto Henderson Chapel Road. (Ruby Tuesday’s will be on your right.) The Music Road Hotel will be just ahead on your left, and the Music Road Inn will be on your right. The physical address of the hotel is 303 Henderson Chapel Road, Pigeon Forge 37863 if you want to look on the Internet for a map and driving directions. Directions can be found on the hotel Web site at www.musicroadhotel.com/cd/directions.html. If all else fails, call the hotel at 1-866-615-6353 or 865-429-7700 for directions.
Registration: Registration will be in the lobby of the convention center from 4:00-6:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, May 2, and from 8:00-9:30 a.m. EDT on Thursday, May 3. Bring your UT Extension nametags! Nametags will be provided for life members.
Door Prizes: We have some great door prizes this year, including tickets to some area Pigeon Forge attractions. Bring your business card to use for the drawings!
Hospitality: Hospitality will be in room 101 of the Music Road Inn. This suite is conveniently located near the convention center. The hospitality room is a place to meet with your friends and enjoy some snacks and beverages. Check the program when you get your registration packets to see when the hospitality room is open.
Seminars: Those attending the seminars on Thursday afternoon and the capstone assembly on Friday morning will receive three hours of training credit toward their HR128 requirement. You will need your personnel number to receive credit so be sure to have it with you. Reminder: The seminar on health and fitness will involve some outside activity so be sure to bring some comfortable walking shoes if you plan to attend.
The TAE4-HW board will be meeting with the 4-H youth development department beginning at 3:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday. The conference will officially start with the opening assembly at 9:30 a.m. EDT on Thursday.

LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY AT JUNE DAIRY MONTH LUNCHEON
We are also looking for 5-6 teen leaders who are not serving as June Dairy Month chairpersons to serve in leadership roles for the chairperson training sessions at the June Dairy Month Kick Off luncheon on June 1, 2007. We would especially like to have teens who have been winners in the promotion event in the past or who are active in the dairy or dairy foods projects. If you would like to nominate someone, please send me a note with the name, address and brief statement about why you think they would be good in this leadership role.

WARREN COUNTY WELCOMES 19 NEW HONOR CLUB MEMBERS
Warren County had 19 Honor Club applications approved in April. Congratulations to 4-H agents Jamie Harris and Michael Barry on making opportunities available that would enable such a large number of applicants to be accepted.
Remember Honor Club is a recognition program. Honor Club recognizes members for participation in educational opportunities; membership does not involve winning any kind of competition. Members receive points on the application form just for participating. Any 4-H’er meeting a minimum number of points can achieve Honor Club recognition. An active Honor Club is an indication of a quality teen program.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Don't be in a hurry to condemn because he doesn't do what you do or think as you think or as fast. There was a time when you didn't know what you know today.
