MAKE IT AN HONOR TO BE IN HONOR CLUB
Honor Club is the first step in Tennessee’s three-level recognition program... Honor Club, All Stars and Vol State. Honor Club recognizes members for participation. Membership does not involve being the winner in any kind of competition. Members receive points just for participating. Any 4-H’er qualifying with the minimum number of points on the application can achieve Honor Club recognition.
How can you make it an honor to be in your county Honor Club? One way to make Honor Club special is to stage an impressive induction ceremony for all your new initiates. Recognize your initiates at an appropriate time in front of their parents, peers, county officials or others they view as important to them.
The Tennessee 4-H Honor Club Recognition Ceremony (EC750) is a step-by-step guide to staging a candlelight Honor Club initiation ceremony. The publication comes complete with a script, list of materials needed and staging diagram. If you do not have a copy in your office, it is available online from the “Forms & Materials” page on the Tennessee 4-H Web site at 4htennessee.edu/forms&materials/. The direct link is 4h.tennessee.edu/forms/acrobat/ec750.pdf.
Honor Club recognizes members for meeting a standard of excellence and recognition is a strategy for helping young people become more capable and confident. Through the acknowledgment, affirmation, and positive reinforcement of members’ efforts, feeling of competence and capability increase and participation continues. An impressive initiation ceremony can be the first step in building that competence and capability in your Honor Club members.

SUPER Q & A: PART # 4
Here are some more questions that have come in over phone and email. Please continue to send questions regarding enrollment!
| Q. |
I have entered my TNCEP volunteers in SUPER. There is an question regarding an application. Where do I find one specific to FCS? |
| A. |
Extension volunteers working with youth need to complete a 4-H volunteer application, and it should be approved before they work directly with youth. There are two 4-H forms you can use. 1) F809 is a longer application and used when volunteers have community clubs, work with judging teams, have a project group or will be spending the night at a 4-H event such as camp, 4-H Roundup, 4-H Congress, etc. 2) F832 is a short application used when volunteers meet youth in school clubs, work with youth on a project in the presence of a number of approved adult volunteers or an agent, help with a specific 4-H activity every year that does not require an overnight stay such as fair exhibit, judging competition, etc. All volunteers should also have references checked (F811) and a signed F833: Agreement and Standard of Behavior. These requirements are part of our efforts to provide a safe environment for youth and adults during an Extension program, event or activity. |

|
| Q. |
I am updating our Extension volunteers on SUPER. In our Blue Ribbon program we included classroom teachers where 4-H meeting were held and principals of the school as either direct or indirect volunteer leaders. Should we enter these in SUPER as volunteers? |
| A. |
Enter people that render some type of service (work) to Extension and do not receive pay. An individual entered as a volunteer in SUPER has liability coverage through the university. School personnel present a different situation. If they are providing the service during school hours, it is part of their work activity, and it is not done regularly, you can count their involvement through SUPER delivery module. If you are interested in capturing their efforts as a volunteer in 4-H and be counted in the Annual Enrollment Report, they should be enrolled in SUPER as a volunteer. |
| |
|
| Q. |
Once the 2007 Annual Enrollment Report was generated, how are we supposed to report the rest of the year? Do I need to go back and redo activities to 2008 even though they took place in 2007 school year? |
| A. |
A report was generated for 2007, but a roll-over did not take place. All data is still in the system in an active mode. Continue to enroll and enter data on 4-H members and volunteers in your county. You can use 2008 as the date. The next 4-H Annual Enrollment Report is due August 1, 2008. All data on members and volunteers for 2007-08 should be entered by this date. A roll-over is scheduled for August 15 for all the files in SUPER Enrollment module. This means all youth and adults entered in SUPER will become inactive to start the new year.
Tip: When entering an activity for youth in the same club, use the list feature in the enrollment module to create the club membership list. Click on the name of a youth, add the activity and go back to the list and select another youth. Continue down the list instead doing an individual search. |

The winners in each division will be awarded a $75 voucher to be used toward the purchase of a lamb in B&B Club Lamb Sale, second place individuals will receive a $50 voucher and third place will receive a $25 voucher.
