GOOD DECISION GRANT PROGRAM

The grant is open to teachers, school-based service learning coordinators or youth serving organizations. The grant deadline is May 1, 2008. This might be a great funding source, especially if you are working in the areas of healthy, safety or are looking for programming for teen audiences. TENNESSEE HISTORY FOR KIDS POSTERS FREE FOR TEACHERS
Some of you may have seen the new Tennessee History for Kids posters which feature photographs from some of the virtual tours on www.tnhistoryforkids.org/ (places like the National Civil Rights Museum, Fort Loudoun, the Bicentennial Mall and the Alamo). Teachers love these posters, but the only way they can get one this year is through a state legislator, curriculum coordinator or 4-H county agent. If you would like to distribute posters to teachers in your county, just contact Bill Carey at bill@tnhistoryforkids.org or 615-477-1644 and he will mail you a box.

TENNESSEE TO HOST 3RD ANNUAL SRTLC
We are very excited to once again offer the opportunity to participate in the Southern Region Teen Leadership Conference, September 4 - 7, 2008, at the Clyde M. York 4-H Center in Crossville. The conference will focus on youth-adult partnerships by guiding participants to develop action plans which they will carry out in their home counties/states. This will not compete with your existing teen leadership training programs and will strengthen your training in youth-adult partnerships.
The conference will be open to 4-H teens in the southern region and will be guided by an advisory committee. Please share the date with your high school 4-H members. More details will be coming shortly.
