This training will cover the steps (elements) to implement service learning projects, useful reflection tools and practical application to your county program. CONNECTING WITH TEENS
Social networking has created new and unique ways to communicate and share information. Sites such as Facebook allow individuals to connect with friends from the past and serve as an outlet for teens, as well as adults, to communicate. Connecting with teens through social networks is an opportunity for Extension agents and program assistants to gain insight into the world of Facebook. Topics covered will include: setting up an account, creating a group, posting photos, etc. Many counties have already begun using Facebook to create groups for county Honor Clubs, senior high clubs, etc. While teens do not always check voice mails or email messages, they do check their Facebook messages. This training is designed to help provide additional resources to county staff working with high school 4-H clubs and teen audiences.
The training will be offered twice via Centra. Training dates and times are April 22, 2009 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. EST and April 23, 2009 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. EST. Registration is open through April 15, 2009 in SUPER. If you have questions about this training, please do not hesitate to contact me.
