4-H DAY AT U.S. SPACE AND ROCKET CENTER
On April 18, 2009, the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama will once again host young people, parents, leaders and 4-H staff from across the region.
Cost is $18 per person! This includes an IMAX movie, hamburger box lunch, access to all public simulators, the rocket park, museum exhibits and more. There is no additional charge for participating in the 4-H Space Exploration Showcase. The flier is available from www.aces.edu/fourh/.
SPECIAL FEATURE! If you have 4-H'ers who have been involved with science and technology projects that may wish to showcase their work, they can do so at this event. Please send an email with names, county and display topic to Tony Cook at cookja1@auburn.edu by April 3rd! Basic space available is 1/2 of a standard 6' table. If your team has a robotics demonstration needing more space, please specify. Topics related to space exploration are most welcome!
It is helpful to the USSRC to let them know that you are attending especially if you have a large group. You can contact the USSRC at the number shown on the flier (256-837-3400 ext. 200) and specify 4-H in your group name and how many you expect to attend. This is important for box lunch planning. There is no limit on numbers, but we ask groups contact the USSRC by April 3.
Thus far, there are no groups registered for a Pathfinder camp session. If you have a group interested, please contact Tony Cook at cookja1@auburn.edu ASAP.

4-H SET IN URBAN COMMUNITIES SURVEY
National 4-H is conducting a survey of 4-H faculty and staff to collect information on the quantity and type of 4-H SET programming occurring in urban communities. As part of a three-year project funded by the Noyce Foundation, they are working with 4-H professionals from across the country to identify and share promising practices for 4-H SET in urban communities. The information from this survey will help determine who is interested in this project - including a pilot of some 4-H SET programming models from January to August of 2010. This survey will also help us determine the major needs of 4-H professionals working in urban communities.
If you are working in a community of 50,000 or more people, please take 10-15 minutes to complete this survey. We would appreciate your response by March 31.Thank you!
