ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL 4-H ELECTRIC CAMP
The 18th annual Tennessee 4-H Electric Camp was held on the campus of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, June 23-26, with 262 campers in attendance. Delegates explored the world of energy, electricity and the basic sciences through fun-filled, hands-on learning experiences.
The Western Region boasted the largest delegation with 136 members attending. The Central Region had 77 delegates, and the Eastern Region had 49. Hickman County had the largest county delegation with 33 members. In addition to the delegates, 12 senior 4-H members attended as camp assistants.
The event is sponsored jointly by UT Extension, the Tennessee Electric Cooperative, the Tennessee Valley Authority and several local municipal power suppliers.

MOORE COUNTY LEADS STATE IN NEW HONOR CLUB MEMBERS
Moore County leads the state in total number of Honor Club applications approved in 2009. The top five counties for the first half of the year are as follows.
1. Moore County - 21
2. Knox County - 17
3. Grainger County - 16
4. (T) Sumner County - 14
4. (T) Warren County 14 |
A total of 256 applications have been approved statewide so far in 2009. The Central Region tops the state with 136 new initiates, followed by the Eastern Region with 83 and the Western Region with 37. The Honor Club Web site at 4h.tennessee.edu/honorclub/howmany.htm will give you statistics for other counties statewide.

STATE 4-H PHOTO SEARCH WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Thanks to all those who encouraged their 4-H members to submit photos for the Photo Search Contest. The judging has been completed and the state winners selected. The following members have state-winning entries.
