AGENT ASSISTANCE NEEDED FOR DEPLOYMENT OF 278TH
Tennessee’s largest National Guard unit, the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, has been ordered to mobilize for an upcoming deployment. Although the exact deployment date is not certain, it is slated to leave no earlier than October 2009. The Knoxville-based regiment is comprised of over 3,000 soldiers from across the state of Tennessee; they last deployed in June of 2004.
The Tennessee OMK staff hopes to enlist the assistance of 4-H agents to work with Family Readiness Group meetings to provide educational programming while the military spouses are briefed. If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please contact Carrera Harris at c-harris2@utk.edu or 865-974-9724.
