Heather Claridy

Heather Claridy of Trousdale County represents Tennessee as a state winner in the Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries project. She is a senior at Trousdale County High School and the daughter of Danny and Mary Lynn Claridy. Heather’s project work included conuductin a wildlife habitat restoration project, attending conservation and soil erosion seminars and tours, sowing food plots, building bird houses and county-wide tree planting. This three-time 4-H citizenship state finalist has served as chairman of the county Easter egg hunt, chairman of the Toys for Tots collection drive, American Cancer Relay for Life coordinator and co-chairman of a canned food drive for the local help center. She says, “Meeting people and making new friends is one of the most rewarding things from 4-H.” Heather plans a career in the medical field.


Ashlee Duncan

Ashlee Duncan of Coffee County is attending National 4-H Congress as Tennessee’s state winner in the Photography project. This home-schooled senior is the daughter of Frank and Nancy Duncan of Manchester. Ashlee is an assistant photographer and Web site manager for a professional photography studio. She enjoys sharing the things she has learned by leading a photography project group in her county. She publishes a monthly club newsletter, has developed and maintained a club Web site and enjoys photography county events. Her photography skills have won her many awards in fairs and competitions. Ashlee’s state-winning LifeSmarts team placed second in national competition in Orlando. She credits 4-H with teaching her to be dedicated to whatever she does. Ashlee plans to start her own design company incorporating graphic design, photography, web design and publishing.


Daniel Ferrell

Daniel Ferrell of Bedford County helped 4-H’ers learn to understand and use GPS as part of his state-winning Computers and Technology project. Daniel, a senior at Cascade High School, is the son of Ernest and Carol Ferrell of Bell Buckle. He has taught classes to a variety of audiences and enjoys geocaching in Central Tennessee. Daniel is the president of his county’s computers and technology club. He also participates in the line and design, entomology and poultry projects. When asked what part of the 4-H program has helped you the most, Daniel says, "All the friends that I have made." In the future, Daniel plans a career in computer and game programming.
