| GENERAL RULES
AND REGULATIONS FOR 4-H SCHOLARSHIPS |
| These regulations apply to all scholarships unless indicated otherwise
under the specific scholarship. |
| 1. |
Scholarships
are open to all Tennessee 4-H members regardless of previous
awards won. |
| 2. |
Recipients
must be a Tennessee 4-H member. |
| 3. |
Applicants
will complete a Tennessee 4-H scholarship application form and
submit it to their county 4-H Extension agent. The application
form is available from the county Extension office or state
4-H office, or on the Tennessee 4-H Web site. |
| 4. |
Applications
are due on the date announced by the county Extension office
and must reach the state 4-H office no later than May 1. |
| 5. |
Scholarships
will be awarded on January 1 following the successful completion
of one quarter or semester of college or schoolwork. Successful
completion is defined as a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average
on a 4.0 grading system. |
| 6. |
Selection of
the scholarship recipients (unless otherwise stipulated) will
be made by a scholarship selection committee appointed by the
president of the Tennessee 4-H Club Foundation, Inc. |
| 7. |
The value of
scholarships which are funded by an endowment will be determined
annually according to the availability of funds. |
| 8. |
Recipients
will be announced at State 4-H Roundup.

AFRICAN AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIPS
DONOR: African American Extension Staff Members |

1. |
Open only to
African American 4-H members. |
| |
2. |
Must have been
accepted at any college, university, technical or trade school
in any field or major. Application may be made prior to the
student's freshman year in college or any following year of
college work. |

3. |
Scholarship
will be awarded prior to the beginning of the quarter or semester
of college or schoolwork. |
| |
4. |
Scholarship
will be awarded on the following basis: |

as a freshman in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural

Scholarship
will be awarded on the following basis: |

the recipient will be made by the scholarship committee of The

appointed annually by the dean of the Agricultural Extension

The scholarship
will be paid in equal amounts for two semesters. Payments are
to be withheld if the recipient fails to do creditable work. |
| |
7. |
The recipient
will receive a scholarship to attend State 4-H Roundup.

counties (in descending order), and to applicants who have not
received this scholarship. If further consideration is necessary,
members from other Tennessee counties will be considered. |

Environmental Sciences or Agricultural Sciences and Natural

with the Agricultural Extension Service. |

a nursing degree/certification. Scholarship is for $1,250 and
is renewable for a second year. Up to eight (8) scholarships
are available per year. |
