AN ACT to ensure the English language is used in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE 2007 TENNESSEE 4-H CONGRESS:

      Section 1: This act shall be known as the Recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance Act.

     Section 2: This act shall require the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools in the State of Tennessee in the English language only.

     Section 3: This act shall not allow the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools in the State of Tennessee in any other foreign language.

     Section 4: This act shall be enforced by the superintendent and school board of every school district in the State of Tennessee.

     Section 5: All laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed.

     Section 6: This act shall become effective upon passage by the legislature and approval by the governor.
