The health project at 2001 Academic Conference went to Westview Tower Apartments to help the Senior Citizen Home Assistance Service. They helped the elderly residents by vacuuming and cleaning bathrooms, and they did group exercise at the end. The 4-H'ers enjoyed spending time with the residents and getting to know different people. One 4-H'er commented, "I learned patience and love with elderly people. It made me feel really great. I will remember them because they enjoyed us." What was their only complaint about the experience? They wish they could have stayed longer and done more.
