Welcome to UT Extension. I have been part of UT Extension for 14 years, serving first as an Extension specialist in agricutural economics, then as assistant and associate dean of agriculture and natural resources. In July 2008, I became Dean of UT Extension.

In the years that I have been privileged to work for UT Extension, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impacts our Extension programs have on the lives of Tennessee citizens. Every day in every county across the state, our agents, specialists and staff work to address issues, concerns and problems facing farmers, families and 4-H youth.

Our programs help farmers and forest owners increase their profitability, make wise use of natural resources, maintain a safe and nutritious food supply and enhance the quality of life for farm and rural residents.

Our family and consumer sciences program addresses family needs such as parenting, nutrition, child care, family financial management, indoor air quality, elder and consumer fraud prevention, wellness, sustainable housing and children's environmental health.

Tennessee 4-H is the state's largest youth development program. Each year more than 350,000 youth, ages nine to 19, participate in programs that guide in developing and enhancing their life skills. These young people will become the leaders of tomorrow.

At this Web site, you also can view information such as our annual report, budgets, minutes from meetings, policies and procedures, and messages from the dean's office.
