Epsilon Sigma Phi Benefits


There are many benefits to ESP membership. Perhaps one of the greatest is the opportunity to fellowship for fellowship and learning from Extension colleagues from across the state and nation. ESP membership is open to agents, specialists and administrators regardless of subject matter assignment. In effect, ESP is an "umbrella" organization that brings all Extension professionals together. Other benefits include:

Awards, Scholarships and Travel Opportunities Available to Omega Chapter Members:

Awards

State Early Career Service Award - (less than 10 years of service) Nominee must show ability to plan/deliver Extension programs in work area. 

Mid-Career Service Award - (10 - 20 years of service) Nominee must have contributed significantly to Extension programs in work area.

Distinguished Service Award - (20 years of service) Nominee must have contributed significantly to state Extension program planning and delivery.

Team Award - Teams nominated must have contributed significantly to Tennessee's response to national initiatives identified by the Cooperative Extension System. One or more team members must be ESP members. 

Friend of Extension - The Friend of Extension Award Nominee must have given outstanding public service and support to Extension programs.

Scholarships

Jesse E. Francis Scholarship - A $250 scholarship is award each year to an Extension professional pursuing an advanced degree. The scholarship is awarded in honor of Jesse E. Francis, a past national Epsilon Sigma Phi president and Omega Chapter member.

Travel Opportunities

Travel opportunities for Omega Chapter members include the opportunity to participate in an annual national ESP conference, in the Southern Regional Joint Council of Extensional Professionals Conference, and in the Public Issues Leadership Development Conference.
