The University of Tennessee Extension provides programs to help homeowners and nursery owners with plant and landscape issues. Whether it is planting a tree in your yard, identifying an insect that's gnawing on your plants, treating a fungus in your lawn, or deciding which fertilizer to use, the Extension Service has the knowledge and expertise to help with garden, lawn, and landscaping questions and problems. Contact your UT county Extension office for more information on what Extension lawn and garden programs are available in your area.

  UT Gardens Offers Education Program on Tree Pruning

 

Educational Programs and Services
Please contact your county Extension office to learn more about what home garden, lawn and landscaping programs are available in your area.

Beekeeping in Tennessee — Provides information on beekeeping as a pleasing and profitable occupation.

Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) Program — Program information relative to endemic and exotic pests which might occur in Tennessee.

Distance Diagnostics — Program focuses on identification of many of the fungal, insect, nematode and viral pathogens which occur across the state. County Extension faculty submit plant disease or pest images and information for rapid diagnosis by resource professionals at the Plant and Pest Diagnostic Center in Nashville, TN.

Dogwood Information Exchange — The University of Tennessee Dogwood Research Group studies and disseminates information about diseases, culture and breeding of Cornus florida and other dogwoods.

Master Gardeners Program — The program supports and engages in projects and activities which foster horticulture, and horticulture-related activities and projects.

Nursery Extension Programs
Educational programs are presented across the state to assist growers, landscape personnel, and county Extension professionals to stay up-to-date on production and landscape trends in the industry.

Soil Test Laboratory — Program to help homeowners, farmers, nursery growers and researchers submit soil samples for diagnostic analysis.

Tennessee Pest Management Information Network — Information on all aspects of pest management and related topics.
